Book Week 2017

On Thursday August 31, we will be holding our Book Week celebration.  Children are asked to come dressed as a book character. (Not a sports person or a normal child, a distinct book character!) We are having a Writer's Festival with 4 visiting authors/illustrators - R.A. Spratt, Lesley Vamos, Dale Newman and Aura Parker.

This will be held between 9.20am and 2.00pm. We will have a cake stall at recess. The cakes will be donated by Years 3 and 4. Following lunch there will be a peer support activity where the groups will share a story read by their group leader and participate in an associated activity.

The groups will then parade in their book character costumes. There will be 3 optional competitions on the day. They are:

1. Decorate cupcakes in the theme - Escape to Everywhere.

2.    Dress your teddy bear as a book character.

3.    Make a bookmark.

These should be brought to the library on Thursday morning. We look forward to a fun day celebrating books and the love of reading, with everyone dressing for the occasion.
